Hello everyone, this is a blog post that will tell you more about sustainable packaging as we are committed to being responsible for sustainability and minimum waste. If you've been following our account for a long time, you may know that being sustainable and ethical has always been a goal I work for. I hope that after reading this blog post, you will know more about our ethos and how we are practicing sustainability at Arzewena.
In a nutshell, sustainable packaging is the development and use of packaging that results in greater sustainability. In this case, the materials you use to package the products must be environmentally friendly which reduces the environmental impact and ecological footprint.
Since I founded Arzewena, I have been thinking about how to make this brand responsible for a sustainable lifestyle. The entire sustainable journey contains three basic steps: recycle, reuse and reduce.
At Arzewena, all the stickers we use, including address labels, come from Avery.co.uk which makes stickers with recycled materials. We were very happy that we found their products so that we can replace our old plastic stickers. Even the large letterboxes we ship your jewelry to are 100% recyclable and eco-friendly. Additionally, we also changed our wrapping paper when we came across Noissue, which supplies wrapping paper made from environmentally friendly materials. Our thank you note is also designed and printed in my home studio with recyclable A6 paper cards. The plastic tape we used previously has been replaced with recyclable brown paper tape. Previously used clear plastic tapes have been eliminated once we learn about the microplastics it emits at the end of its life cycle.
STEP 2: REUSE OF THE PACKAGING COMPONENTS.
With every order we send you we include a cute jewelry pouch that can be reused and helps you store your jewelry. This little baby carrier has been loved by so many of our customers for a reason. They are reusable and can easily store your jewelry when you are on the go. Plus, they look so cute :)
Currently, most of our jewelry is assembled in our studio. When choosing components for assembly, we make sure to reduce unnecessary waste. As a small business, we understand that it's not easy for us to oversee the entire supply chain right now, but as the brand grows slowly, we aim to spend more resources to make sure our suppliers put sustainability first in their business.
Finally, I would like to remind you that as a consumer you have every right to ask your favorite brands and local stores what steps they are taking to recycle, reuse and reduce waste, and I encourage you to do so.
Once again, thank you so much for those of you who appreciate the changes we have made to our packaging and continue to support us to do better on that. We promise we won't let you down. Our next milestone on this sustainable journey is to use 100% recycled materials and move on to become a 100% ethical jewelry brand.
We'll make sure to share our progress on our social platforms, so stay tuned :)
